A captain going down with the ship

At Deliberations (which is no longer Anne Reed, but has been passed on to the American Society of Trial Consultants), Matt McClusker talks about how a hung jury is not usually the one, lone holdout that we picture, but rather it is a split group that is then whittled down to one or two holdouts.

Thus, a hung jury is not usually caused by a “lone hero,” but by a “captain going down with the ship.”

  • Thanks for helping to get the word out about Deliberations being back up and running! I hope to do Anne proud.

Also, no biggie, but it’s Matt McCusker instead of McCluskey. McCluskey is tired of getting my mail. ;)

  • Sorry about that, fixed it. I’ll be reading, keep up the good work at Deliberations.
