Gunning for Justice

If you pick one book to read by Gerry Spence, it should be Win Your Case.  If you want to read another, I recommend Gunning for Justice.  Spence writes about four high profile cases that he handled during his career, including Karen Silkwood’s case against Kerr-McGee for plutonium contamination and the murder trial of Ed Cantrell.

I’ve read several of Spence’s books, and I plan on reading the rest of them as I have the time – some are easier to read than others.  Once I got into it, Gunning for Justice was a page-turner and I did not want to put it down.  It is masterful storytelling, woven with autobiography and insights on the preparation for and the trial of the most difficult types of cases.  I recommend the book for prosecutors as well as defense lawyers.
