Not guilty in Columbia, S.C.

Congratulations to Richland County public defenders Luke Shealey, Brian Shealey, and Jim May, who won a not guilty for their client in a prison murder trial this past week, in Columbia, S.C. I looked, but I don’t see a single news article covering the not guilty verdict. There was an article about how a guy was sentenced to life in prison for murder the week before.
Update:
From a comment on this post, more props for Richland County public defenders from a good week:
“Our office had a good week. Jay Cooper, Charlie Cochran and Clarke Newton got a not guilty on a burg 1st but a guilty on the accompanying CSC 1st. Anastasia Walker and Rhodes Bailey got not guilty on PWID cocaine charges and a guilty on simple possession of mj which the guy admitted his guilt to on the stand.”

  • That comment was meant as an addition to Luke, Brian, and Jim’s verdict. Richland PDs were busy last week (as always.)

  • Thanks, added to post.
